When the International Criminal Court began its operations, I developed strategy and protocols for the Court’s initial investigations, directly supporting the Chief Prosecutor as the first law clerk within the Prosecution Division. I later returned as a consultant and prepared materials for the Prosecutor’s first applications for arrest warrants, which involved war crimes by members of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda.

Analyst
Served as political analyst and graduate fellow in the Directorate of Intelligence, drafting intelligence products for, and briefing, senior U.S. policymakers.
2001 - 2003
The Carter Center
Asst Program Coordinator
Analyzed and directed efforts to support the peace process in Sudan. In this role, I liaised with officials from African governments and international organizations on key issues in the peace process, regularly representing the Center on missions throughout East Africa. I worked directly with former President Jimmy Carter and drafted bilateral agreements between Sudan and Uganda.

During school, I served as Senior Articles Editor of the Georgetown Journal of International Law and represented the school on its moot court team. I graduated with Highest Honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, I studied political science, international studies, and creative writing. I received the Ernest Mackie Award for Most Outstanding Junior Man, was inducted into the Order of the Fleece and Phi Beta Kappa, and my political science thesis was selected as best in the state.
